1. What telehealth is
"Telehealth" means the delivery of health-care services by a licensed clinician to a patient at a different location using electronic communications, including secure messaging, audio-only phone calls, and live video visits. Through the Medlo Health platform, you may be evaluated, diagnosed, and — where medically appropriate — prescribed medication by a clinician who is licensed in the U.S. state where you are located at the time of the visit.
2. Benefits
- Faster access to a licensed clinician than an in-person visit.
- Privacy and convenience — care from home or anywhere you have a device and connection.
- Reduced exposure to other patients in a waiting room.
- Ongoing follow-up and adjustments without scheduling a new visit.
3. Risks and limitations
- Technology failures. Internet, audio, or video problems may delay, interrupt, or prevent a visit.
- Incomplete information. A clinician cannot physically examine you. Important clinical findings may be missed that would be detected in an in-person exam.
- Clinician discretion. Your clinician may determine that telehealth is not appropriate for your condition and may refer you to in-person care. A clinician may also decline to prescribe requested medications.
- Privacy. Although we use industry-standard security, no electronic communication is ever completely secure. See our Notice of Privacy Practices.
- Prescription limitations. Controlled substances and certain other medications may not be prescribed through telehealth, or may require additional steps.
4. No emergency services
The Medlo Health platform is not an emergency service. If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately. Do not use the platform to request urgent care.
5. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate and complete information about your medical history, symptoms, current medications, and allergies.
- Be located in a U.S. state where Medlo Health offers the treatment you are requesting at the time of the visit.
- Follow the clinician's treatment plan, including taking medication as directed and attending follow-up visits.
- Contact the clinician promptly if your condition changes, if you experience side effects, or if a treatment is not working.
6. Alternatives
You have the right to seek care outside the Medlo Health platform, including care from your primary care provider or an in-person specialist. Choosing to decline telehealth will not affect your right to care from another provider.
7. Revoking consent
You may revoke this consent at any time by writing to privacy@medlohealth.com. Revocation does not affect care already provided but will stop any new care through the platform.
8. Fees
You are responsible for the fees presented to you before any visit or prescription is issued. If you have questions about pricing, contact support@medlohealth.com.
9. Acknowledgement
By completing your intake and submitting it for clinician review, you acknowledge that you have read this consent, understand the benefits, risks, and limitations of telehealth, have had the opportunity to ask questions, and agree to receive care through the Medlo Health platform under these terms.
